These were my words yesterday afternoon upon realizing that our A/C was not cooling. I took it with a grain of salt, and thanked God for our Emergency Stash.
The heat was hard to take being so used to the nice cool home. Harder to think of was the not knowing what was wrong with the system and even more difficult the thought of how much of our Emergency Stash we would have to give to have it fixed.
Earlier this month we had all decided to get eye exams and new glasses after several years of not going for a check up. Of course the A/C unit was already in the process of taking a plunge this month of July. Ah I must not forget the purchase of new mattress for my toddlers bed that set us back $200.00 as well for the two beds for his room.
We couldn’t get anyone to come last night so we pull out the box fans and it was so much better. The repair person came today and 200.00 + dollars later it was cooling again. I would have much rather done something different with those funds, but it sure does feel good to have our home cool again.
Going to do some research on how to maintain the unit in hopes of preventing future surprise repairs to the best of our abilities. In the meantime just happy to be cool again even if I am not a totally cool person hehe.
Tip to maintain a/c that the repair person shared with me.
change our air filters at least every two months
