Last Week on This Day

06/22/2008 by Sandra 2 Comments

Last week on this day our family was in S. Florida celebrating Father’s Day with my family in Fl.

This week I am missing the hustle and bustle of the family being around.  My husband and I have decided we are in a rut.  We chose to stay home all the time and the days are long and mostly the same for us here at home in OK.

We have given it some thought and this week tried a new church, which we both seem to like.  We even took a walk to the mall which we have not done in months and months.  We then went to Sam’s Club to buy our favorite frozen fruit.

I must say I enjoyed our walk in the mall, watching all the people and watching our one year old just look around at all the new surroundings.  I bought some lotion and body spritz that I had been wanting to buy.

Now we are back home again and its hot and humid outside, the lawn is calling at my husband to mow it.  He in turn is really wanting to turn his head and pretend he doesn’t hear it calling.  Yet as he looks over to all our neighbors lawn he can’t ignore its calling.  He must mow at least the front lawn later this afternoon.

I am missing my lil guy

My 5 yr old stayed in FL visiting with his grandma on his dad side.  He has been very excited about this visit and looking forward to it.

Me on the other had knew it would be dreadfully quiet here at home without him.  I am glad the 1 yr old is here with me to keep me busy.  It is still not the same 🙁

I find my days since Monday are long and go really really slow.

Well I will have to find tasks to keep me busy.  Hmmm I know I need to clean out all his broken toys and put all clothes he has out grown away.  I think that should keep me busy for quite a while.

Fun Fun Fun visiting family ~

My mom was suppose to catch a flight I had purchased for her to fly to OK at 6 a.m. Ah she had an hour to get thru security, but since the airport was very busy that morning she was put on standby. This in turn messed up our plan she was going to fly right back to Florida to help me with the two kids on the plane.

It all turned out well because my husband was able to fly to FL instead.

I did learn that I will not fly with the two kids alone again. It was just too stressful for me, never the less we made it. Sunday night thru Tuesday we stayed at my sisters house. Tuesday night we stayed at my mom’s house thru Monday when it was time to come home.

On Thur night was my older sons graduation, which I enjoyed so much. I can’t believe he is all grown up, time flies too fast. Now starts the difficult task of college, oh fun fun fun 🙂 I pray he will do well.

On Sunday we all got together for Father’s Day, it was a great ending to my time in FL. There were 40 in all between adults and children.

I was reminded on my trip to FL how nice it is to have family close by and spending those special time together. I return home to the quiet and slower pace we have. We almost don’t want to return back home. If only we could bring our home to FL. I am sure we will get used to our slow, quiet life again.

Ah yes we will do it all again next year, 🙂 something to look forward to.
