Mom Needs A Nap

02/04/2009 by Sandra Leave a Comment

I am taking a much needed nap this afternoon. I should be all recharged after a one hour nap. The kids take one daily and mom should too, but sometimes doesn’t get around to it. I definitely feel it later in the day.

Saturday, Jan 3 This Days Notes

01/03/2009 by Sandra 2 Comments

The New Year has started with a fresh start for our family.  I am so glad 2008 is behind us, it brought us many headaches and some good as well.  Overall I am so glad it is over, now on to 2009

Hubby is working two jobs since Dec 2008 and will probably be working 70 hrs a week for several months.  We are estmating it to be at least 6 months if not more.

The kids and I will be spending more time together and doing some more projects to keep us occupied.   I need to do some searching for inexpensive projects to do with the kids.   I also plan on trying out a few new recipes as well, so I can be a pro at them when I try them out for hubby.

Finished Tick Tock

12/30/2008 by Sandra Leave a Comment

I finished the audio book Tick Tock by Dean Koontz, it was very good.  If anyone want to read a bit about the book click on the book on the left panel and see if it might be a book you would like.

I am now finishing one that I started before Tick Tock but didn’t finish listening to it in time.   It seems to be popular had to wait for it for about a week before I was able to download it again, it is called Your Heart Belongs to Me by Dean Koontz as well.

My Husband Has Got Me Hooked On Books

12/23/2008 by Sandra 1 Comment

I used to be an avid reader of fiction back in my high school days. I stopped reading fiction shortly after starting college, just didn’t have time for casual reading. I have since tried many times to pick up ficiton reading again but my imagination as I remember it seemed to be missing. Having my imagination stumped I didn’t enjoy reading as much.

My husband listens to audio books regularly on his way to work. He comes home filled with stories and plots of the books he listens to. He doesn’t know how much I enjoy his stories, but I do shhhh. I was at the library with the kids not long ago and walked passed the audio book section and started browsing thru it. My eye cought a book called Forever Odd by Dean Koontz, my husband had told me about the first book call Odd Thomas and I remember how much it cought my attention. I decided to check out the book, brought it home and started listening to it.

When I told my husband I got it he asked if he could take it and listen to it. He promised he would give it back so I could listen to it and he would take out books 3 and 4 of the same series to listen afterwards.

I couldn’t wait for him so went looking thru my library account and found downloadable books available thru my library. I am enjoying the books so much, I have 3 downloaded and listen to them as I do my kitchen etc.

My imagination is slowly coming back to me as I remember back in my high school years, and I am enjoying it very much.
